Build Daily Habits to Create Lifelong Change

  • My practice is based in San Luis Obispo, CA, offering both in-person and virtual appointments to meet patients needs where they are. In-office visits allow for hands-on assessment and guidance, while virtual sessions provide flexible, convenient support from the comfort of home. Many patients choose a combination of both, creating a personalized approach that fits their schedule, needs, and goals.

  • I believe meaningful care starts with listening. Every patient is met with attention, respect, and an individualized plan that reflects their unique needs and experiences. My role is to support, guide, and partner with you, creating a space where questions are welcomed and progress feels achievable.

  • Therapy is offered for children ages 5 and up, teens, and adults with personalized care that meets you where you are.

What is Myofunctional Therapy?

Myofunctional Therapy is a structured, therapeutic program that evaluates and retrains the function of the oral and facial muscles, particularly the tongue, lips, cheeks, the way a person swallows, and breathing habits. It is essentially neuromuscular re-education for the orofacial system using structured exercises to restore healthy patterns and function.

Who Can Benefit?

Individuals With:

  • Myofunctional therapy addresses neuromuscular dysfunction and jaw instability by retraining orofacial and jaw muscles to reduce clenching, grinding, and temporobandibular strain while supporting improved breathing patterns and muscle relaxation.

  • Myofunctional therapy strengthens the tongue and orofacial muscles to improve airway stability, reduce snoring, and support better sleep quality.

  • Myofunctional therapy improves tongue mobility and orofacial muscle function before release and supports healing after release through guided exercises, reducing scar formation and improving tongue range of motion and function.

  • Myofunctional therapy retrains the tongue posture, chewing, and swallowing patterns to improve oral muscle function, reduce compensatory habits, and prevent orthodontic relapse.

  • By addressing tongue posture and oral rest position, myofunctional therapy helps shift breathing from the mouth to the nose, supporting better sleep, facial development, and oral health.

  • Breathing re-education improves oxygen delivery, supports relaxation, and enhances overall respiratory and cardiovascular health.
